Emil Stjernholm is an assistant professor in media and communication studies at the Department of Communication and Media, Lund University and a visiting researcher at the Department of Communication at the University of Copenhagen. Currently, he is working on the media historical digital humanities project Televising Information: Audiovisual Communication of Swedish Government Agencies (Swedish Research Council, 2020–2023). In collaboration with the National Library of Sweden, Stjernholm has conducted a study using automatic speech recognition to explore a large corpus of public information television, which has resulted in a publication forthcoming soon in NECSUS: European Journal of Media Studies. Previously, he has edited the volume Nordic Media Histories of Propaganda and Persuasion (Palgrave Macmillan, 2022) with Fredrik Norén and C. Claire C. Thomson and published articles in international journals such as Media History, The Historical Journal of Film, Radio and Television, Studies in European Cinema, and VIEW Journal of European Television History and Culture.
